TO WHOM IT MAYS CONCERNE :
We are international traders working on seafood since 1987, our turnover is over 350 million US Dollars yearly, we have hundreds suppliers and customers all over the world for our off shore business and we regret to know that we cannot do happy absolutely all the world.
As trader we also accept payments by TT 30/70 as now is more usual than by L/C and the only term from certain countries. We receive advance payment and on behalf of our buyer we pay it to the packer who must produce and load the goods.
Trader’s benefit is internationally known to be between 3 and 5% and this means for low cost product like giant squid or hake, we earn 30-50 US$ /mt, or about 1000 US$ x container.
In 28 years working on this, of course we also had some problem with packers, as I guess many other traders had: delay problems in production, change of catch season, bad weather and some time also lose money, that for us represent to lose about 400,000 US$ because of that, specially by small packers and fishers without enough financing where we try to have better prices.
To earn such small fee we always taken on our charge the lost, some time taking time trying to have back the advance from packer, but anyway always we assumed that in friendly agreement with the involved customers paying them all the money and we keep doing it according our commercial policy but trying to limit the risk.
This problem is a commercial discrepancy and we offer to those few customers the way for a friendly agreement and to cover back the Money.
We will not accept that somebody, because a commercial discrepancy, may relate us as scammers and fraud, so for whom does not accept a friendly settlement we left action to the lawyers and by our side we present a criminal complaint for libel, slander and defamation requesting payment of penalty for damages and considering will deposit that money to the court that serves our the complaint. The judge will define what it should be done with that money, and coordinate the civil and criminal actions to defend our rights and our reputation.
