US Drops Opposition To Development Bank Lending For Argentina

Law360, New York (January 21, 2016, 6:14 PM ET) -- The U.S. said Thursday it will drop its yearsold opposition to Argentina's obtaining development loans in recognition of economic reforms being sought by newly elected Argentine President Mauricio Macri.

The decision followed a meeting at the World Economic Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, between U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew and Argentine Finance Minister Alfonso Prat-Gay, a Treasury spokesman said in a statement.
