International Blues Festival Stars in Paraguay

26 de febrero de 2015, 00:01Asunción, Feb 26 (Prensa Latina) The First International Blues Festival will open today in this capital with participation of prominent local musicians and artists from Argentina, Brazil, the United States and Canada.

The event, to be held at the Municipal Theater of Asunción, will be the first to nucleate many styles of country blues, jam blues, gospel, rhythm and blues (R B), soul, and others.

The Paraguayan musician Gustavo Sánchez, promoter of the festival scheduled until the weekend, said there will be outstanding foreign figures like Canadian Pete Schmidt, guitarist and exponent of Chicago jump and blues.

From Argentina will participate Gabriel Gratzer, guitarist and singer of country blues and gospel, Cristian Benitez, blues and rock musician from Posadas and Rula Marcial, guitarist and singer of traditional music from the province of Misiones.

The Brazilian singer Micheilli Dos Reis and the American guitarist David Cole with his group called The Main Street Blues, described here as one of the representative of the genre in Washington, are part also of the cast performing on the international event.

This festival is the culmination of a lifelong dream as it has international figures of blues whereas other Latin American nations also have groups that play that music, said Sanchez.
