The Black Cats had been keen on securing the 28-year-old's services prior to his move to the San Siro at the beginning of the season, and the Premier League side are believed to again be interested in signing the Argentina international.

Inter chief Giovanni Luigi, though, has underlined the Serie A giants' unwillingness to sell the player, telling Radio Gaucha: "Scocco is a great player, a player [manager] Abel Braga knows well. We want to count with him."

Scocco himself admitted any potential move away from Inter would most likely see him rejoin Newell's Old Boy in his homeland, where he spent last season on loan.

However, the forward admitted anything is possible, and that he would consider all options that came his way - provided his current employers green-lighted his departure.

"In Argentina, the team that always has the priority is Newell's, but I know that it's very difficult because of economic reasons and it doesn't depend on me, it depends a lot on Internacional and any team that can pay what the Brazilians expect," he said.

"For a reason of being thankful, respect and feelings, Newell's is always going to be first, but I don't close the door to anybody."
