ICSID Won’t Nix Total’s Award In Argentina Investment Case

Law360, New York (February 2, 2016, 7:19 PM ET) -- An International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes committee has refused to annul a confidential award issued to the French oil and gas giant Total SA stemming from Argentina's alleged violations of a bilateral investment treaty, according to a Monday decision.

The ICSID ad hoc committee rejected each of Argentina's arguments as to why the award should be set aside, including its contention that the tribunal had applied the wrong law in its decision.
