BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Estudiantes relinquished top spot in Argentina's first division by drawing 0-0 with Newell's Old Boys on Sunday, while new leader Colon downed Rosario 1-0 in the fifth round Saturday.

Also Sunday, a goal by Colombian international Teofilo Gutierrez lifted River Plate to a 1-0 victory over San Lorenzo, Quilmes defeated Tigre 1-0 and Olimpo overcame Lanus 2-0.

River's archrival Boca Juniors lost 1-0 to Velez Sarsfield on Saturday, while Belgrano beat Rafaela 2-1 and Argentinos Juniors won 2-0 against Arsenal. In Friday matches, Gimnasia defeated Godoy Cruz 2-0 and Racing drew 1-1 with All Boys.

Estudiantes had the better chances and should've won the game, but Newell's goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman pulled of a string of quality saves to earn the Man of the Match honors. Carlos Luque cut in from the right, held off two defenders and struck a left foot shot inside the near post in the 32nd for the only goal of the game.

River Plate claimed just its second win of the season against Velez, with Gutierrez converting a cross from fellow Colombian Carlos Carbonero in the 21st.

Boca Juniors have also struggled so far this tournament, recording just one victory so far and went down to a 29th minute goal from Mauro Zarate.
