Argentine Foreign Ministry holds official event on 28 May – Republic Day

The event organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Argentina received support from the Argentine Foreign Ministry as well as the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA.

The event was attended by the Argentine governmental officials and parliamentarians, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, as well as representatives of business spheres, culture, and the leading media outlets.

Argentine Deputy State Secretary for Foreign Policy Marina Carolina Pérez Colman congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on behalf of the government, talking about Azerbaijan’s significance for Argentina and recent achievements in Azerbaijan-Argentina relations over the last years. Noting the first ever democratic republic in the Muslim East was established in Azerbaijan, Marina Pérez Colman has characterized Azerbaijan as a country that has a strategic position, rich natural resources, dynamic development, and high international influence.

Azerbaijani ambassador to Argentina Mammad Ahmadzadeh in turn talked about the way Azerbaijan had gone through in the years of independence, our country’s development strategy, regional leadership and growing relations with Latin American countries in recent years. Touching upon relations with Argentina, the diplomat talked about the current state of the cooperation between the two countries in the political, economical, and humanitarian fields and the prospects of development.

The event was followed with a concert program performed by the Azerbaijan State Song and Dance Ensemble named after Fikrat Amirov. After the concert, an official dinner was held.

At the event, an exhibition of photographs of Azerbaijan’s historical monuments, modern views, and future projects was displayed.
