Argentina will Complete Payment of Energy Debt with Bolivia in March

09 de enero de 2016, 00:45La Paz, Jan 9 (Prensa Latina) Argentina will complete a debt payment of $ 300 million for purchasing energy to Bolivia before the end of March 2016, it was learned here today.

Until last January 6, the Argentine government paid 100 million dollars and promised to pay the rest before the end of next March, said the president of the company Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), Guillermo Acha, to Red Patria Nueva.

The agreement is the result of the meeting held three days ago by Acha and the President of Energia Argentina SA (Enarsa), Hugo Balboa, who said his country will meet the payment of the debt in the first quarter.

According to the director of YPFB, Balboa will travel next week to Bolivia together with the Minister of Mines and Energy, Juan Jose Aranguren, to continue the bilateral talks.

The aim is to strengthen relations and coordinate the work in the operational and commercial sectors of the contract to purchase and sale gas, signed in 2006 and valid until 2028, said Acha.

Acha stressed the Argentine executives stated that the brotherhood existing between the two nations will predominate to develop all the trade agreement comprising gas exports to the neighboring country.
