Three veterans have returned to the New Zealand women's hockey squad for next month's series against Argentina.
Coach Mark Hager has named a 24 strong squad bringing back Charlotte Harrison, Kayla Whitelock and Emily Naylor who have 668 caps between them.
Hager says while Whitelock may take a while to get back to speed after having a baby four months ago, Naylor and Harrison are ready to go.
"Naylor was sensational during the national hockey league. She got better as the tournament went on and Charlotte Harrison we believe will add a strength in our group, particularly around goal scoring."
Their inclusion has seen promising youngsters Rachel McCann, Aniwaka Roberts, Michaela Curtis and Shiloh Gloyn shunted to the development squad.
Hager says it's tough on them.
"The four players that have missed out are quality athletes, the likes of Kayla, Charlotte, and Emily coming back in, their experience and their performances put them over the line in selection."
The squad will be reduced to 18 for the Oceania Cup and also the World League final in December.
