BUENOS AIRES - Federico Susbielles has been elected president of the Argentina Basketball Confederation (CABB).
The 45-year-old, who was appointed auditor of the CABB in August, will serve as president through 2019.

The election took place at an Ordinary Assembly this week, with FIBA President Horacio Muratore among those on hand.
Twenty-three of the 25 Argentina federations attended and voted unanimously for Susbielles, as well as approving the CABB budget and calendar for 2016.
"I reaffirm my commitment to basketball, to continue to work with humility, always opening the channels of dialogue," Susbielles said. "Our sport deserves a healthy and unified confederation."
Susbielles played for the national youth teams and was a captain in 1988. He sat alongside the country's great Manu Ginobili at the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship in Mexico City and watched Argentina come from behind to beat Mexico and qualify for the 2016 Olympics.
Ginobili, a long-time national team player who led the country to gold at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, is among the many to express satisfaction that Susbielles is now the president.
@manuginobili @fsusbielles to you and yours! :c)
