Olympic-level field hockey is coming to Lancaster County, with the U.S. Women’s National Team facing off against Argentina in a four-game series.
To be played at Spooky Nook Sports — the home base of Team USA — the games are at 6:30 p.m. Friday; 4 p.m. Saturday; 6:30 p.m. Monday; and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Tickets were already gone two weeks after going on sale, but the contests will be televised in high definition, and livestreamed as well.
They'll air on Blue Ridge Cable’s Channel 11 and be available across the Fox 43.3 network.
To catch the livestreaming, go to usafieldhockey.com. Former national team member Torrie Albini will offer the color commentary.
Team USA’s roster includes two local players: striker Laura Gebhart, of Donegal High School and Penn State University, and striker Jill Witmer, of Penn Manor High School and the University of Maryland.
Argentina is a Pan American rival of the U.S. National Team. They bring a veteran squad to Spooky Nook with a history of holding one of the top three FIH world rankings.
At the 2014 Rabobank Hockey World Cup, Argentina clinched a third place medal with a 2-1 win over the United States.
