BROOKINGS, S.D. – Kelli Garry, the 2012-13 South Dakota FFA reporter, is traveling this month in Argentina as part of the National FFA Organization’s International Leadership Seminar for State Officers (ILSSO).
ILSSO presents state FFA officers with an opportunity to travel to another country, experience the culture, tour some of the country’s landmarks and, largely, discover the agriculture flavor of that country.
While in Argentina, Garry will visit crop and livestock farms, an agricultural machinery operation, a grain elevator, a dairy farm, a soybean processing facility, a grain marketing organization, a cattle market and Iguazú Falls.
Garry will spend time in Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital city, and Rosario, its second-largest city. She also will experience a cruise of the Parana River and visit Bosch Palace, the residence of the U.S. ambassador to Argentina.
Garry is a freshman at South Dakota State University majoring in agricultural education, communication and leadership. Her parents are Steve and Patty Garry of Lake Preston, S.D.
