San Antonio Spurs Super Star, Manu Binobili to Play in FIBA World Cup

Yes, you heard it right! Manu Ginobili has confirmed his attendance in the 2014 FIBA World Cup under team Aregentina through social media stating "Estoy adentro! See you in Spain 2014!"

Manu Ginóbili started his basketball career way back in Argentina and Italy where he won several honors which most likely are the reason why he still intends to support his Argentinean team to the 2014 FIBA World Cup. He came from an Italian Argentine family of basketball players. He has an older brother, Leandro, who has recently retired from the Argentine basketball league while another brother of his , Sebastian, who both played locally and at the Spanish Liga Española de Baloncesto. They were raise by his father, Jorge, who was a coach at a club called Bahia Blanca. Bahia Blanca is where Ginobili learned how to play basketball.

He started his professional career in basketball in 1995 when he started playing at the Argentine basketball league for the Andino Sport Club team of La Rioja. From there on he has played with Estudiantes de Bahía Blanca (Argentina) then transferred to Viola Reggio Calabria (Italy) until he reached NBA in 2002 and signed up for San Antonio Spurs. Up until now he remains loyal to San Antonio Spurs.

The San Antonio Spurs shooting guard has always told fans that he's decision to retire will rely much on his health. Although he may have suffered minor hamstring injuries, he ended the basketball season healthy and well. As of now, he does not have any intentions of retiring from international competitions just yet.

His decision to remain playing makes sense as he is currently at the height of success. Having won the NBA Finals just recently, Ginobili would want to make use of his talent and extend his full support to the Argentinean team.

But Ginobili didn't have a good year last 2013. It has been reported that he has suffered a lot of minor setbacks and health issues. He was physically and emotionally drained from joining the international completion and playing full time in NBA. Would this year be any better? Only Ginobili knows up to what extent his mental and physical capabilities can go through.
