Rugby World Cup 2015: Australia delay naming team

Australia have delayed naming their team for Sunday's World Cup semi-final with Argentina to allow three players one last chance to prove their fitness.

The Wallabies were due to name the side on Friday morning for the Twickenham game but held back the announcement for several hours so they could conduct a full-contact training session.

Number eight David Pocock (calf) and full-back Israel Folau (ankle) have both been receiving treatment.

Prop Scott Sio (elbow) is also a doubt.

Head coach Michael Cheika said all three would have to complete a full session to be considered for selection.

"We'll run them out today and see how we go," he added. "It's a World Cup semi-final so it's not like we're keeping anyone for next week."

Pocock and Folau both missed

last week's quarter-final win

over Scotland.

Argentina were due to name their team later on Friday.
