River Plate moved three points clear at the top of the Argentinian Apertura with a 2-0 win over Tigre on Sunday. Rodrigo Mora netted either side of half-time before Martin Galmarin was dismissed for Tigre with three minutes remaining as River Plate made it five wins in a row.
Boca Juniors claimed their second win in a row after a shaky start to the season as they beat nine-man Olimpo 1-0. Miguel Borja was dismissed for Olimpo in the 14th minute but Emanuel Gigliotti could not hand Boca the lead until the 78th minute with Juan Sills also seeing red with a minute remaining.
Silvio Romero bagged a brace for Lanus in a 3-1 win at Racing Club. Adrian Centurion put the home side ahead after just two minutes but Romero levelled the scores from the penalty spot after 34 minutes and Diego Gonzalez put Lanus ahead on the stroke of half-time. Centurion was then sent off with three minutes remaining and Romero scored his second in the dying moments.
Lucas Acevedo and Juan Cavallaro exchanged goals as Rosario Central and San Lorenzo shared a 1-1 draw while the game between Godoy Cruz and Defensa y Justicia also ended 1-1 with Sergio Lopez and Julio Rodriguez on target.
