Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Arcade Fire, Nine Inch Nails, Pixies and Phoenix are among the headliners confirmed for Lollapalooza’s 2014 South American trek. The run includes the first-ever Lollapalooza Argentina, set to take place April 1 and 2 at the Hipódromo San Isidro racetrack in Buenos Aires.
Dates for Lollapalooza Chile and Lollapalooza Brazil, in São Paulo have also been announced.
The Lollapalooza Argentina details were announced on the festival website Monday via a video featuring Perry Ferrell dancing tango and dribbling a soccer ball in Buenos Aires to the Chili Peppers’ “Give it Away.” Tickets are now on sale on the site with pre-sale prices in Argentine pesos at the equivalent of about $92 for one day or $117 for a two day pass.

The Buenos Aires festival is a partnership between Ferrell, the Jane’s addiction frontman who founded Lolla in 1991, festival co-owner William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, Austin-based promoter/producer C3 Presents, and Latin American promoter Fenix Entertainment Group. Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas, El Mato a un Policia Motorizado Juana Molina are among the Argentine artists who are among the over 50 confirmed acts.
"Our perennial trip through South America has become one of the most anticipatedtimes of the year for my family and our extended family (of musicians)," states Farrell. "I have also been inviting every delightful new acquaintance to join us. They will find it to be an epic journey as well."
The fourth annual Lollapalooza Chile will take place March 29-30 at O'Higgins Park in Santiago, a site that will host six stages and more than 60 acts, organizers note. The electronic stage will feature the likes of Axwell, The Bloody Beetroots, Wolfgang Gartner, Flux Pavilion, and Flume, while homegrown artists Francisca Valenzuela, Joe Vasconcellos, Ana Tijoux, Nicole, Lucybell and Upa! will play. Live events firm Lotus Producciones will produce the show.
The third edition of Lollapalooza Brazil will happen April 5 and 6 at the Interlagos Race Track in São Paulo, through a new partnership with live event company Time For Fun. The lineup will be announced Nov. 11 and pre-sales begin Nov.18.
Lollapalooza's flagship festival in downtown Chicago will take Aug. 1-3, 2014, though the bill won’t be announced until the spring.
