Chile and Argentina have ordered a red alert and evacuation of around 3,000 people living near the Copahue volcano located between their shared border.

Last December, Chile also issued a red alert after the volcano started spewing ash and gas, resulting in a cloud of ash almost a mile (1.5 kms) high in the Biobio region.

Copahue is one of the most active volcanoes in the region.
