President saves godson from becoming werewolf

The Argentine president has become godfather to a Jewish boy to prevent him from turning into a werewolf.

According to Argentine legend, any seventh consecutive son will grow up to be a werewolf, any seventh daughter a witch, The Telegraph reports.

In 1907, in an effort to stop the killing of seventh children, the then-president of Argentina became godfather to a seventh son. The tradition became enshrined in law in 1973, and it had applied only to Catholic children.

So to avert Yair Tawil, 21, from turning into a werewolf, his parents Shlomo and Nehama Tawil appealed to the president to adopt him as a godson, although he is Jewish. They met just before Christmas.

Yair became the first Jewish godson to an Argentine president – and he won’t become a werewolf. He's not Cristina Kirchner's first, however. She has “adopted” several godsons – the first in 2008, followed by another in 2012 and three last year.
