Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos stated he believes that his club Real Madrid is ‘God’s team’, after he was asked about the Pope’s allegiance to San Lorenzo, Pope Francis has been an ardent Argentina supporter since he was young.
“In the semi-finals we noticed the love from supporters in Marrakech and it seemed like we were playing at home. That sums up the greatness of this team.”
“Madrid is God’s team and the team of the world. In Argentina all Argentines love football with a passion. We will try to give joy to all Madridistas, but the Pope is supporting San Lorenzo”.
Ramos admits that he will not feature in the club world cup final match if there is a genuine risk to his health, but he wants to play, if possible. Ramos’s thigh was injured in the semi-final against Cruz Azul Real. Real Madrid will face South American champions San Lorenzo in the FIFA Club World Cup final today in Marrakesh, Morocco.
