Nokia, in partnership with Argentina’s Ministry of Modernization, has unveiled a customized version of its Lumia 520 smartphone, La Nacion reports. The device comes preinstalled with government apps, including ‘BA Movil’ which provides real-time traffic information; and ‘BA Como Llego’ offering various options to travel between two points: by public transportation, by car or on foot.
The selected apps were the most downloaded Buenos Aires government apps. BA Movil saw 230,000 downloads, while BA Como Llego saw 309,000 downloads.
The 4G-capable Nokia Lumia 520 features a 4-inch IP LCD WVGA display, a 5-megapixel camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth support, 512MB RAM and 8GB of internal memory with the ability to expand up to 64GB with a microSD card.
The smartphone will be available for ARS 900 with contract, in all Argentinean mobile operator networks, starting January 2014.
