A hatchback that breaks the mold

The new Nissan Note 2015 was revealed in the brand new building Nissan Car One building in Tortuguitas, Buenos Aires province. The company plans to introduce the car into the compact segment as part of aggressive strategy to strengthen its presence in strategic areas. Its dynamic and versatile style reflects Nissan’s intentions to innovate. The car comes in three versions: the Sense, the Advance and the Exclusive.

In terms of technology, the bog standard version of the Note has a push-button ignition switch, a smart key and cruise control. The Advance version comes with a Bluetooth hands-free kit, a rear-view camera, an iPod connection, a USB input and an audio system with a 4.3-inch colour screen. Finally, the Exclusive version includes a 5.8-inch touch screen with satellite navigation.

The Note has a spacious and comfortable interior that exceeds the average size or other cars in its range. The trunk has a capacity of 272 litres, which can be almost doubled when the back seats are folded down.

The Note has CVT transmission, a 1.6 litre four-cylinder engine with a dual injector system for improved fuel efficiency.

Smart technology

All versions of this car have a smart key, which allows the driver to open and lock the vehicle without removing the key from his pocket. It also has a rear-view camera which allows the driver to view the back the car on the computer screen, which is really useful for parking in tight spaces.

All of the audio feature can be accessed by the using the 5.8-inch touch screen. These features include, an AM/FM radio, a CD/MP3 drive, a USB socket, an iPod dock, an auxiliary socket and a Bluetooth hands-free kit. To make things even more comfortable when driving the audio features audio and the cruise control can be controlled by switches on the steering wheel.

Interior space

Another quality that adds versatility the Note is the inclusion in its Exclusive version of a ‘two-layered boot‘ which allows drivers to adapt the size the boot. Upon lifting a special hatch the driver will find a hidden compartment. The hatch can also be regulated in order to store items of all different sizes.

The car also has cup holders and armrests in the rear, which are incorporated into the seats. The back of the car is made for the passengers to feel comfortable. There is 1,048 cm of legroom in the front and 972cms at the back. This is comparable with the Sentra. There is also 1,037cm between the seat and the roof.

Efficiency

This vehicle was designed to provide the perfect combination of fuel efficiency and performance. It has a 1.6-litre four-cylinder HR16DE engine, which includes top level technology like a double fuel injection system. Is compact, lightweight and also uses a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control (CVTC) in the intake and exhaust ports.

Drive

In addition to advanced engine and transmission designs, its excellent daily use comes from its reinforced front suspension with a stabilizer bar, a rear axle with a torsion bar and its sensitive power steering at high speeds. It also has ABS brakes, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). Its comes equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels in the Sense and Advance versions and 16-inch ones in the Exclusive version.

The Note combines a generous wheelbase with short overhangs that create an agile and sporty look.

All versions have electric wing mirrors which are the same colour as the bodywork. The exclusive version features anti-fog lights.

Prices for the Nissan Note are as follows: the Sense version: 185.400 pesos; the Advance version 200.000 pesos, and the Exclusive version 228.300 pesos.

The Note, like all Nissan products has a three-year warranty over cover for up to 100,000 kilometres.
