Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro has arrived in Argentina as part of a South American tour that took him first to Uruguay and that will end tomorrow in Brazil, after April 14 general elections when Hugo Chávez’s hand-picked successor defeated, though with a tiny margin, right-wing Henrique Capriles.
Maduro’s agenda in Buenos Aires City includes a meeting with President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner at the Government House by non today and a political rally at the All Boys football stadium in the afternoon, where de will lead commemorative tributes to Hugo Chávez and Néstor Kirchner, ex president of Argentina and late husband of CFK.
Fernández de Kirchner will host an official dinner in honour of her Venezuelan counterpart tonight who has chosen Venezuela's MERCOSUR trade partners for his first international tour.
