Maduro and CFK sign eleven bilateral agreements

Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro and President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner signed eleven bilateral agreements in strategic areas such as energy, agriculture and science at the Government House, where both presidents discussed key topics of the cooperation between two countries.

One of the first statements of the Venezuelan leader when arriving earlier this morning at the Jorge Newbery Airport in the city was to consider that Chávez's "presence" is "very strong" in Argentina and to stress the "responsibility" to continue not only with his "legacy" but also with Néstor Kirchner's, ex Argentine president and late husband of CFK.

Maduro joined a political rally hold in the afternoon at the All Boys football stadium where he lead commemorative tributes to both late presidents Chávez and Kirchner.

Cristina Fernández de Kirchner hosted an official dinner in honour of her Venezuelan counterpart who had chosen Venezuela's MERCOSUR trade partners for his first international tour.

Maduro arrived in Argentina as part of a South American tour that took him first to Uruguay and that will end tomorrow in Brazil, after April 14 general elections when Hugo Chávez’s hand-picked successor defeated, though with a tiny margin, right-wing Henrique Capriles.
