The Museums Association (MA) Annual Conference and Exhibition 2014 in Cardiff will be welcoming around 50 international delegates from across the globe.
Representatives from museums in China, Estonia, Poland, Argentina, Canada, Australia, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Italy and Spain will be attending Cardiff 2014.
Kristel Oitmaa, the cultural attaché at the Estonian Embassy in London, said: “A number of museum directors from Estonia will visit the UK to meet colleagues with a view to future cooperation, and will be attending the MA's annual conference in Cardiff.
“The director of Estonian Maritime Museum, Urmas Dresen, mentioned that the UK has always been the leading country of effective museums management and new technologies, and he is very keen to get more familiar with the new developments of British museums.”
Alistair Brown, the MA’s policy officer, said: “I’m delighted that we have so many overseas delegates at this year’s conference in Cardiff.
“It’s a reminder that museums and culture professionals from around the world are taking a close interest in how UK museums are approaching this challenging time.
“In particular, Museums Change Lives has caught the imagination of many of our international visitors, and we look forward to sharing this vision with them through our exciting conference programme.”
