LIONEL MESSI has revealed he could leave Barcelona in the future to head back
to his homeland.
The
Argentine superstar signed a new contract with the La Liga giants yesterday,
meaning he will trouser a mindboggling £17MILLION a year until
2018.
The 25-year-old has ruled out moving to another team in Europe but is open to
a possible return to South America.
Messi said: “I said it before — in Europe I’d like to end my career at Barca.
I wouldn’t consider moving to another European club.
“With that said, I’m not ruling out ending my playing career in Argentina.”
Messi scored a record-breaking 91 goals in 2012 and has already bagged 45
goals in 34 games for Barcelona this season.
