The world’s best players Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are set to clash in England and Carlos Tevez is in line for a return to Upton Park after Argentina released their squad for friendlies next month.

The squad, posted on the Argentina FA official Twitter page, includes a host of stars from across Europe’s top leagues but also includes Tevez for the first time in three years.

Gerardo Martino’s side take on Croatia in London, supposedly at Upton Park, and then Portugal in Manchester presumably at Old Trafford, in friendlies next month.

Messi, who will look to avenge the 3-1 loss to La Liga rivals Real Madrid in the El Clasico on Saturday, as Portugal talisman Cristiano Ronaldo will surely make the trip for his national side.

Meanwhile Tevez, who last played for his country at the 2011 Copa America on home soil, is a surprise inclusion having missed this year's World Cup in Brazil despite fine form for Juventus.

Tevez was a cult hero at West Ham, saving the club from relegation almost single-handedly in 2007 before moving onto trophy laden spells at the two Manchester giants of the Premier League.

If the London game is at Upton Park the West Ham faithful will give the 30-year-old a rousing reception along with another former Hammer in the squad, Barcelona utility man Javier Mascherano who also signed in the summer of 2006.

The Argentina friendlies will also put Manchester United’s Argentina stars in their national strip at their home ground with Angel di maria and Marcos Rojo included.

Other Premier League stars in the squad are Manchester City’s free-scoring Sergio Aguero and full back Pablo Zabaleta with room for Tottenham forward Erik Lamela.
