Lionel Messi has been accused of invading Gary Lineker's turf, not as a leading striker... but as the new face of crisps!

Lineker, who has long been a Walkers' brand ambassador, tweeted a light-hearted message on Twitter on Thursday.

It read: 'Hang on! What's going on here, Messi? Muscling in on my territory,' with a link to Messi's advert for crisp manufacture Lays.

Lay's, Walker's namesake in America, have picked the Barcelona striker to promote the brand in a new commercial to which Lineker was referring.

The Argentinian endured a testing evening on Wednesday with his national side, having thrown up on the pitch during a 0-0 against Romania.

With a vital Champions League against Manchester City coming up in less than a week, Barcelona will be hoping it wasn't because the striker's been eating too many crisps!
