A Jewish pope?
Pope Francis is on the cover of Time magazine as “Person of the Year.” A much deserved honor. He is trying to move the church forward in many ways.
Now, here is something for His Holiness to ponder.
I have the following from a reliable source. Because of the Spanish Inquisition in the 14th and 15th century, many Jews were forced to become Catholic, or die. Most chose life, but secretly continued to practice Judaism. As Argentina was forming, they welcomed immigrants, especially if they spoke Spanish. Many closet Jews immigrated to Argentina so they could openly practice Judaism. To this day Argentina has the most Jews in South America.
My reliable source has revealed that the holy father’s ancestors were originally Jews from Spain. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Pope Francis would acknowledge his heritage and announce he is the first Jewish pope? Think of how this would heal many wounds and create love and peace. As John Lennon has written, “Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I am a dreamer, but I am not the only one.”
You are right, John, I am also a “dreamer” of peace.
