BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — A founding member of the widely popular musical and humor group Les Luthiers has died in Argentina. Daniel Rabinovich was 71.
A member of the group's production crew told The Associated Press that Rabinovich died on Friday from heart complications. The member asked not to be identified because he wasn't authorized to speak on behalf of the group.
Health problems in recent years had kept Rabinovich from performing.
Les Luthiers began performing in 1967, entertaining crowds in theaters across Latin America and Spain. Rabinovich would often play made-up instruments, such as the tube of a tractor.
Rabinovich also had small roles in Argentine television programs and movies, and published two books of short stories.
