Jeremy Clarkson caught SPEEDING and punished with points to driving licence

The Top Gear presenter said he was spotted exceeding the limit by a camera on a road between Whitby and London.

The 54-year-old was going so fast he could not be offered the alternative speed awareness course and had to accept the licence points.

It comes after Clarkson caused controversy in Argentina after locals thought a number plate he had on his car referenced the bloody Falklands War.

Writing in his weekly Sun column, the car-mad telly host said: "Last month I wrote in a blind fury about how many speed cameras I'd encountered on a drive from Whitby to London.

"Well, it seems one of them got to me.

"Sadly, I was going too quickly for the speed awareness course to be an option.

"Which means I'm getting some points on my licence. My first in 30 years."
