Ireland v Argentina player ratings: See who was our man of the match as …

Yesterday was a very disappointing day for Irish rugby as Joe Schmidt's men crashed out of the World Cup.

Argentina were the better team as they easily beat Ireland 43-20.

It may have been a different day if Paul O'Connell, Johnny Sexton and Peter O'Mahony were fit, but who knows.

Despite the devastating defeat, here's how our boys in green rated for yesterday's game:

Rob Kearney 6: Saw plenty of the ball – he made 11 carries - but found the going tough in the aerial battle.

Tommy Bowe 6: The third Irish player to be carted off in a week. Knee injury a cruel end to his involvement.

Keith Earls 7: Banged up last week but put his body on the line. Linked well with his centre partner.

Robbie Henshaw 8: Appeared to be carrying an injury but Ireland’s top ball carrier and tackler – again.

Dave Kearney 5: Will be disappointed not to have stopped the Pumas’ crucial fourth try.

Ian Madigan 6: Will be haunted by that penalty on the hour that could have drawn the sides level.

Conor Murray 6: Solid but given world class credentials, one of those who needed to give more.

Cian Healy 5: Struggled to come to terms with the Puma scrum and wasn’t prominent.

Rory Best 8: Regarded as one of Joe Schmidt’s main leaders and showed why here. Immense work (Our MOTM).

Mike Ross 5: Another who had a difficult day in the scrum. Last World Cup game, will be disappointed.

Iain Henderson 6: This guy is the future and while he struggled to impose himself, it will be a learning experience.

Devin Toner 7: Ran the lineout like clockwork but also tried to make his presence felt around pitch.

Jordi Murray 6: Scored second try but, one big turnover aside, he looked a class below this level.

Chris Henry 6: The groundhog gave it everything but was up against a superior force in Lobbe.

Jamie Heaslip 7: Stepped up to the mark in terms of defence but struggled to get his point in as skipper.

More? Jamie Heaslip on Irish supporters: "This is a special group of players and a special group of fans"
