(Forimmediaterelease.net) The Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT) 2015, the leading event in Russia to conduct business with key members of the travel trade, opened its doors on March 18, 2015 in Moscow, Russia.
Over 200 representatives of tourism boards, Ministers and press were in attendance at the official VIP Cocktail Reception which inaugurated the 22nd edition of the fair. These attendees represented around destinations from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, Africa, Australasia, the Mediterranean, among others.
Speaking about why they exhibit, Argentina’s Minister, Carlos Enrique Meyer, commented: “We started working in this market several years ago and we want to continue promoting Argentina to Russia. Since 2003 we have seen a very steady growth in Russian tourists, and last year we had about 11,000 Russians visit Argentina. We find the MITT exhibition very professional and I am surprised to see people from all over the world here. There are some trade fairs that we need to exhibit at and MITT is one of them.”
This year the exhibition has attracted a number of new destinations looking to target the outbound tourism market in Russia. Tourism boards from Yemen, Bahrain and Myanmar are all exhibiting with national stands for the first time.
The island of Crete is present with their own stand for the first time, and the Region of Sardegna and the Chamber of Commerce of Nuoro will make their debut. Furthermore, the tourism board of Turkey has almost doubled its presence, highlighting the continued importance of the Russian tourism market.
The MITT will take place until March 21, 2015 at the Expocentre in Moscow, Russia.
