The vessel was arrested for illegal fishing in the middle of the year and arrested in Puerto Madryn. Meanwhile, part of the crew of 31 seamen, were repatriated and released to return home, but the other 15 seamen were still on board of the fishing vessel. On November 5, all the remaining 15 fishermen on board disappeared without trace, as they left vessel and guarded port’s territory without anyone noticing them. The Argentine authorities are confused and cannot explain the situation, as people didn’t show up on any border checkpoint, air or sea, or land. The local authorities started investigation for the missing people and not sure what is their destiny.

According to the Internal Ministry of Argentina, the case is simple and people succeeded to transfer to some Chinese cargo ship in vicinity and are on their way to home. The coast guard and port authorities are checking registries of all Chinese ships visiting the South American port and will start a law case against them.

The vessel Hu Shun Yu 809 is Chinese fishing and fish processing ship with gross tonnage of 1500 GRT.
