Benjamin Alvarado is scheduled to compete in next week's Panama Claro Championship on the Web.com Tour.
The holdover PGA TOUR rookie has limited his action to a team competition in his native Argentina in late October. It's his only start anywhere since he missed the cut at The Greenbrier Classic in early July. He has a pair of medical extensions on the PGA TOUR for two different injuries that impacted his 2013-14 season during which he cashed only once in six tries. A knee injury in 2013 yielded four starts to earn $699,104 or 423 FedExCup points and a promotion to the Major Medical category. He was also given four starts on a Minor Medical Extension for a wrist injury suffered during the season. So, he'll have status in the reshuffle for his first four starts. If he doesn't meet the terms of the medical, Alvarado will drop into the Minor Medical category for another four starts. Jan. 24 - 11:14 pm et
