For the remainder of 2015, the Missourian will replace its "Today in Pictures" daily gallery series with a new series titled "Around the World." This series will feature pictures and information about a different country each day.
Today's "Around the World" gallery features Argentina.
In 1816, the United Provinces of the Rio Plata declared independence from Spain, creating the countries of Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina, according to The World Factbook via CIA.org. There are currently 43 million people living in Argentina, according to the U.S. and World population clock.
