Argentine Satellite Continues its Route Through the Cosmos

Arsat-1 travels perfectly, according to controllers on the earth station of that locality.

After fulfilling the results planned for the second maneuver of approaching to its final destiny, the specialists are preparing a new ignition to achieve the 29,000 kilometers, the state satellite company said.

The satellite, completely developed by the Argentine Scientific community that works in the State companies Applied Research and Satellital Argentine was launched into space on Thursday from Kourou, French Guiana, by an Ariane-5 propulsion rocket.

According to the data provided, Arsat-1 increased its speed at 510 meters per second, reaching a height of perigee of 14,000 kilometers, from the 4,600 kilometers ehrre it was left after the first maneuver.

Telam news agency said that the team of DLR-Space German Agency- highlighted the excellent performance of the satellite control software.

To continue traveling to the new height, the next maneuver will be to turn the apogee engine (LAE) on again, for about 38 minutes.

Telam says that the Arsat's team in charge of orbiting the satellite is made up of about 20 people divided into groups with permanent shifts.
