Argentina has retained the lead in the South American group of the 2014 World Cup qualifying tournament.

The team’s leader Lionel Messi and his teammates played away at Chile. In the 27th minute, Lionel Messi opened the score in his trademark style. Three minutes later, the visiting team’s striker Gonzalo Higuain scored an even more brilliant goal. He rounded three Chilean defenders and fired the ball into the far top corner. Argentina continued the demonstration of their good skills as Sergio Aguero could have scored a third goal, but his shot hit the post. After the break, Chile tried to revive the intrigue, but they managed to score only one goal back thanks to Felipe Gutierrez. As a result, Argentina gained a 2-1 victory.
