Leonardo Senatore, left who impressed in the Rugby World Cup, is looking forward to playing Super Rugby.

There is little doubt that the Argentine Super Rugby side is going to be a force to be reckoned with in their debut season in 2016 after they announced another star signing in No 8 Leonardo Senatore.

The Buenos Aires based team, which does not have a name but media reports are suggesting that they could be called Los Jaguares, is building an exciting squad for the new-look Super 18 competition.

Senatore, who had been playing club rugby in England for Worcester Warriors since 2013, has signed a two-year contract with the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) until December 2017.

"Everything counted in my decision to return home, to play in such a tournament, be close to the family," Senatore said.

"Super Rugby has an impressive dynamic hard to find in other tournaments ... you can see the best rugby in any match."

Senatore was the first choice No 8 for Argentina during the Rugby World Cup in England, helping them to reach the semifinals last month where they lost to Australia.

He had a superb game against the All Blacks in their opening match of the tournament and is a cornerstone of the physical Puma's pack.

The former sevens international, who is 1.91m tall and weighs 106kg, has played 34 tests for Argentina and has scored three tries.

The 31-year-old joins most of his World Cup team-mates in the franchise and the majority have been picked for the Pumas' season-ending match against the Barbarians at Twickenham on November 21.

Senatore is one of many big-name players for Argentina - the likes of Juan Martin Hernandez and Joaquin Tuculet and Agustin Creevy - who are coming back from the northern hemisphere to play Super Rugby.

A total of 23 of the Pumas World Cup squad have signed for the Super Rugby team and the administration is in the process of establishing a wider training squad.

The Argentine franchise will begin their Super Rugby campaign against the Cheetahs on February 26 in Bloemfontein.
