Argentina legend Diego Maradona has sensationally upstaged Barcelona star Lionel Messi's orange juggling exploits on stage.

The 1986 World Cup winner showed he's still got the dazzling skills and silky touches that once lit up world football.

The iconic No 10 was responding to a Youtube video of the current Barcelona star casually doing keepy-uppies with an orange as he killed a few moments on set.

Maradona, determined not to be undone his successor to the hallowed Argentine shirt number, promptly took up the challenge on stage.

While Messi managed to juggle the fruit only nine times, the 55-year-old managed an incredible 20 touches before catching the orange and calling it a day.

The former Argentina coach was even dressed in a suit and had the added pressure of a live audience to impress.

Messi is still recovering from the knee injury that ruled him out for up to eight weeks towards the end of September.

Can he improve on his single-figure total when he returns?

Over to you now Lionel.
