BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Burglars in Argentina torched a family home, killing a couple and badly injuring their two children, officials said on Tuesday.
Police said 43-year old Carlos Knack and his 42-year old wife Graciela Mojfiuk died after suffering severe burns.
Officials say at least four criminals broke into their home in the northern province of Misiones. They locked the family in a room and stole $56,000 before they set the house on fire. The couple's 12-year old daughter and 25-year old son suffered burns to most of their bodies.
The only member of the family who escaped unharmed was Carlos Knack, their 20-year old brother, who was not home during the robbery.
The Knack family owned a saw mill and police say they had recently carried out a profitable business transaction. One of the company's employees has been arrested and authorities are investigating if he gave criminals information about the deal.
