Argentina crude steel production stable in October

Argentina’s crude steel production decreased 3 percent in October, month-on-month, but remained stable compared to the previous year, reaching 477,500 mt, according to the country’s steel chamber CAA.

According to CAA, crude steel production from January to October reached 4.5 million mt, up 7 percent up year-on-year. The increase in crude steel production within the period is a result of stoppages for maintenance in 2013.

CAA also said cold rolled flat steel output in October fell 9.7 percent, month on month, to 96,000 mt, and 31.7 percent, year on year, to 106,300 mt.
