Madrid, Aug 23.- Films from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Guatemala and Peru will be presented at the section Films in Progress 26 at the San Sebastian Film Festival, organizers said.

The exhibition from September 22 to 24 will coincide with the Third Forum of Europe-Latin America Co-production, part of the festival which this year celebrates its 62nd edition.

The section received 121 films from 25 countries, from which Mi Amiga del Parque (My friend from the park), by Ana Katz (Argentina-Uruguay); Ixcanul, by Jayro Bustamante (Guatemala-France), and Magallanes (Magellan), by Salvador del Solar (Peru-Argentina-Colombia) were selected.

The list also includes O homem that matou a minha morta/To My Beloved Dead, by Aly Muritiba (Brazil); La Mujer de Barro (Mud Woman), by Sergio Castro (Chile-Argentina) and Paula, Eugenio Canevari (Argentina-Spain).

Two of the films participated as projects in the First Forum of Europe-Latin America Co-production: Mi amiga del Parque and O homem park that matou a minha beloved morta / To My Beloved Dead.

Films in Progress 26, which will deliver an award of up to 200,000 euros, is a program of aid to Latin American cinema with a biannual call in cooperation with the Festival of San Sebastian and CineLatino, Rencontres de Toulouse.(Prensa Latina).
