Angel Di Maria drops hint over his Manchester United future

Manchester United’s record signing Angel Di Maria has given the club a boost by admitting that he is prepared to stay in order to prove himself, as reported by The Daily Star.

The Argentina international, who moved to Old Trafford last summer for a British record fee of £59.7 million from Real Madrid, as reported by The Daily Mail, started the season in fine form, but has recently come off the boil.

Louis van Gaal named Di Maria on the substitute’s bench in the 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Liverpool at Anfield prior to the international break, with the Argentine being thrown into the mix in the second-half.

Di Maria’s drop in form following the burglary at his home in February has seen him used sparingly by van Gaal, and the likes of Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have been sniffing around the 27-year-old, who has created 46 chances this term.

PSG were looking to pounce on Di Maria last summer, however Financial Fair Play rules saw them lose out to the Red Devils, as reported by The Daily Star.

Despite his recent struggles in the first-team, Di Maria has pledged to turn things around at Old Trafford and please the fans, according to sources close to the player.

One of these sources told The Sun, as reported by The Daily Star: “None of this business about PSG is coming from Angel and he has no interest in going there. It is true things have not gone as he would have liked so far, but he is determined to make it work at United.”

The 27-year-old will want to return from the international break refreshed and ready as United face a tough eight game run-in, with clashes against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal to come, until the end of the campaign.

Angel Di Maria has an average pass accuracy of 77% in the league this campaign.
