    Wednesday, May 27, 2015 - Islamabad—To commemorate the 205th anniversary of the first Independent Government on May 25th 1810, the Argentine Ambassador, H.E. Rodolfo J. Martin-Saravia hosted a reception at Serena, which was a well-attended affair. This anniversary constituted a most formidable occasion to renew the bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Argentina. He thanked the presence of the Chief Guest the Federal Minister for Defence Production, H.E. Rana Tanveer Hussain.

    The Argentine Ambassador, H.E. Rodolfo J. Martin-Saravia, invited many of his Pakistani friends, including Politicians, Businessmen and Argentinean nationals working or living in and around the capital.

    The Argentine Ambassador expressed that he wishes an ever-growing prosperity to Pakistan and looking forward to strengthen our relationship by working together to foster stability in the region and around the world.

    Regarding trade and economy, the Argentine Government wishes that argentine investments in Pakistan continues to grow, but also welcomes any investment from Pakistani businessmen who wants to conquer Latin American markets. To the distinguished guests of the business community, he said: I am ready to help you to expand your companies into South America, using Argentina as your hub, your stepping stone, your base, indeed your home away from home.

    During his speech, Ambassador gave remarks with heavy heart regarding the tragic helicopter accident in Naltar, “we been left with no alternative but to accept God’s will and seek his mercy and blessings for our dear departed souls. Though it is very difficult time for the family members and friends of our departed colleagues, their suffering are huge, we pray to God to give them courage to bear this irreparable lose and may their memories give them peace and comfort.”

    Further more he added that “Today I feel very sad because five of our loving members of this Diplomatic Family were killed in this tragic accident of Naltar Valley. The demise of the Ambassador of Philippines, H.E. Mr. Domingo D. Lucenario, the Ambassador of Norway, H.E. Mr. leif Holger Larsen, the Ambassador of Indonesia Mr. Burhan Muhammad, Mrs. Heri Liftyawati, wife of the Ambassador of Indonesia and Mrs. Datin Habibah Mahmud, wife of the High Commissioner of Malaysia have left to all of us a sentiment of huge emptiness and sadness that will be very hard to over come.

    This time, the Navy Military band of Pakistan was not there to play national anthems of both countries as the Ambassador wanted this day to be marked silently in the remembrance of his deceased members of the Diplomatic Community.

    The guests offered endless gratitude to Ambassador Martin-Saravia, for always welcoming them with great hospitality. Last but not least, the Ambassador thanked to all the media people for the constant and strong support to his Embassy as well as himself got from all the Press people, TV and graphic during his last 11 years of tenure in Pakistan.
