On Wednesday Goal revealed the two clubs are struggling to agree a fee for the Argentina international, with the Gunners unwilling to pay over £21 million.

But Jorge Higuain, who is one of his son's representatives, claims that personal talks will soon begin between club and player.
"We have been given permission by Real Madrid to negotiate with Arsenal," Higuain senior told Fox Sports Argentina.
"I will luckily be able to see my son in the Premier League soon."
The deal would represent a coup for Arsene Wenger, who has been linked with a host of big names in the close-season as he seeks to bring a trophy to the Emirates Stadium for the first time since 2005.
Arsenal have already signed Auxerre youngster Yaya Sanogo on a free transfer, as well as activating Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini's release clause and agreeing personal terms with Ashley Williams.
